'Got Talent' gives talent the opportunity to present via Facebook and Instagram

“Got Talent” fans could become ‘Big in Bangkok’ and have their videos shown on a giant video screen in Thailand’s capital in an event that was also streamed live on Facebook

On March 18 “Talang”, the Swedish version of talent show “Got Talent”, launched its seventh season. To celebrate, the channel gave Swedes the unique opportunity to become ‘Big in Bangkok’ and show their talent on a giant video screen in Thailand’s capital on the day of the premiere. For the chance to be featured on the screen that TV4 rented for the event, talented viewers simply had to shoot a video of their talent and upload it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #Talang2017 until March 11.

At 4pm CET on March 18, TV4 kicked off the ‘Big in Bangkok’ event, which streamed live on the channel’s Facebook page and was hosted by YouTuber Kristina “Keyyo” Petrushina. The Facebook Live stream was also embedded on the dedicated ‘Big in Bangkok’ website. Before the user’s videos were shown on the screen, which is one of Asia’s largest screens and passed by over six million Thais every month, Keyyo first competed in some fun little challenges with Thai passersby. She for example did a candy eating contest or showed pictures of Swedish celebrities, with the participant having to guess what they are famous for.

Shortly after, the actual event started and a number of randomly selected submissions were shown in the heart of Thailand’s capital, granting the fans 15 minutes of fame on the other side of the globe. The ‘Big in Bangkok’ stream lasted for about 20 minutes.
